What it means
The Milni ('meeting') unites the two families. It opens with an Ardas (prayer), then counterpart elders from each side meet, embrace, and exchange garlands and gifts — the families joining before the marriage itself.
What happens
- 1Families gather at the Gurdwara in the morning, often over tea and breakfast.
- 2An Ardas is offered, then matching relatives are introduced and garland one another.
