Working with Two Officiants

Coordinating officiants from each faith so both ceremonies flow with dignity.

Also known as: two officiants, co-officiating, interfaith officiant

What it means

When each tradition has its own officiant — say a pandit and a priest, or a granthi and a qazi — a little coordination lets each lead their portion fully while the whole day feels like one celebration rather than two stitched together.

What happens

  1. 1Brief both officiants on the full running order and timings in advance.
  2. 2Give each officiant uninterrupted space to lead their rites in full.
  3. 3Use a shared compere or program to bridge between the two portions for guests.
This explanation is under review by a religious authority — a companion to, not a replacement for, your officiant.
